Spa day...mani, pedi & a new hair-do...

As you all know, my sister's anniversary was yesterday. So, we watched the girls all day today and tonight so that they could celebrate! They spent the day going to lunch, the museum, laying by the pool for all of 15 minutes before the rain came, going out to dinner and staying at a nice hotel in downtown Dallas!!

The girls played, we took them to Double Dave's for pizza and games and then I took them for manicures/pedicures! Lucky girls!



We came home, played some more, ate dinner and got ready for the movie and popcorn! How much fun!! The girls giggled and laughed. They really had a good time!!

It was all fun and games until we came up to check on them and found these...

I still can't believe what happened. It just makes me sick.

What's better than good friends and ice cream?

Ashton went to Vacation Bible School this week, and she had so much fun! She really enjoyed the music, snacks, new friends & fun! Ashton's friend, Anna, came over for lunch and to play after VBS today! They had so much fun together!!

She finally cut it...

Ashton has been begging for Aunt Jaclyn to cut her hair. I kept trying to get it cut when we were out, but she wanted to wait. Well, Aunt Jaclyn came over today, and she finally got to cut it!! It turned out very cute too!!

Fun times...

We went to a place called Strikz for Johnny's company party on Friday! We had pizza, played a lot of games and Ashton bowled for the first time! Ashton had SO much fun, and she is now saying that she wants to have her b-day party there. Let's see how many times that changes between now and March!

We headed to Lake Texoma on Saturday morning early! Johnny played golf with my Dad, and Ashton, Reese and I went with my Mom. My Mom got her haircut, and Ashton got a manicure and pedicure while we waited! Lucky girl. Then, we shopped a little! There aren't too many places to shop in the Sherman mall, but we managed to find some good deals! Ashton got a new pair of Nike tennis shoes that are very cute! She was so excited to get new shoes! I know the feeling because I LOVE to get new running shoes!! Any new shoes are actually fun! Then, we met the guys at the marina for lunch! The girls both enjoyed seeing and feeding the fish and the turtles. Ashton stayed at the lake and had a sleepover with Grammy and Papa! She was SO excited when Grammy asked her to come! In fact, she didn't want us to come at all! She wanted it to be HER thing! She is already asking when she is having one again!!

Ashton came home with Grammy and Papa on Sunday morning since she still wasn't ready to come home! We met them at Isabelle's softball game, and we all went out to dinner afterwards!

What do you do...

We were in such a good routine of sleep, and I think that I messed it up! Maybe its just teething, but I am blaming myself. I FINALLY decided to get back to the gym this week. I have been 2 times so far, and I am planning to go tomorrow morning! The only problem is that the girls can't seem to get "in sync" as far as sleeping! Reese normally gets up at 7 or 7:30, and Ashton gets up at 8 or 8:30. So, Reese is almost ready for a nap by the time we are all ready to go to the gym. I decided that she will adapt, and we just went to the gym on Monday and Tuesday. The end result...She took a morning nap, NO afternoon nap and woke at 5:30 2 days in a row! Ugghh!! We got back on track yesterday, and she slept until 7:45 this morning. I put her down at 9:15. 30 minutes of crying. Gave her a dose of tylenol IN CASE her tooth might be hurting. Finally got her up and gave her a bath. She FINALLY went to sleep a little after 10! GREAT. Not so much. We have to leave at 10:40 for gymnastics and then out to lunch with friends! Oh well. The life of the second child (I guess)...

Will I ever get back into shape? Maybe so. I guess we will all have to lose a little sleep in the process!

We met up with my Mom and Dad & Johnny's Dad and Jackie for a Father's Day dinner at Patrizios last night! We had a good time!!

I am also very thankful for the man that put up with me through all of these years! I have always looked up to you! Thank goodness, I found a husband as kind and caring as you!

And...Last but not least....Johnny's Dad! Thank you for always being so good to both of us and our children! You are a great Father-in-Law and Grandfather to our children!!

Spoiled...

Yes, Johnny and I were very spoiled this weekend! We went to lunch (without even getting up to go potty right as our food was ready), and we looked at cars yesterday while Gran watched the girls! Then, we went to tailgate and to the Kenny Chesney concert last night, and Gran watched the girls AGAIN! We had so much fun! We are both a bit sleep deprived after 2 nights out, but it was well worth it!

This morning, we were relaxing on the couch and watching a movie when Grammy called and asked if she could come and get Ashton! She took her to McDonald's for lunch and to play, and she had a blast! Now, she is hanging out at Grammy and Papa's house until we meet for dinner tonight!

It is SO very quiet in our house right now! Reese is napping. Johnny is resting. The only noise I hear is the washing machine! Ahhhhh!

Did I mention how nice it is to be back in the Big D? I love being close to our friends and family again!!

A good day...

My sweet Mother-in-law came over today, and she wanted me to get out and play! Yea! Unfortunately, I spent way to much time looking for the second half of Johnny's Father's Day gift, and it was nowhere to be found! So, we will just have to get his gift custom framed after Father's Day! Oh well. After I finally gave up on that, I got a pedicure, did a little shopping for myself and headed back home. It was a great break from our day to day routine!!

I came home, freshened up and changed clothes, and Johnny and I went out on a DATE! We went to one of our favorite restaurants (Javier's), and we enjoyed good conversation and excellent food and drinks! Then, we ended up meeting our friends, Jennifer and Shelby AND Jen's ex-husband Jason for a drink in Addison! It was so great to catch up finally!!

Gran is still here, and Johnny and I are heading out to look at cars! I will be very surprised if I don't get a new car in the next week or so! That's my husband for you, but we will see what happens!!

Playdate!

We had Jen and Grover over for lunch and to play today! We needed to celebrate birthdays since they missed Reese's Birthday Party, and we won't be able to go to Grover's Birthday

Party in Kerrville. Reese and Grover had fun, and Ashton loved playing with him too! Poor thing. Those girls wouldn't leave him alone!! We had a lot of fun and enjoyed catching up!!

We look forward to getting together again soon!!

Splish Splash...

Oh my goodness, the girls had a blast in the bath tonight!! Reese figured out just how much fun it is to splash! Then, Ashton joined in the splashing, and it got a little out of control! They were so cute (giggling and laughing) though!!

Summer fun!

We met my Mom and nieces at the Purple Cow for lunch yesterday! We weren't so sure it was the best idea at first because I think everyone else decided to go there after VBS! It ended up working out just fine, and we had a nice lunch!

After lunch, I took Ashton, Isabelle and Makenna to the movies, and Grammy took Reese home for a nap! We went to see Shrek the Third! Very cute movie!!

RELAX....

Ashton loves to take a bath! She especially LOVES to take a bubble bath in my jacuzzi tub! As I watch how much she enjoys it and relaxes, I am trying to come up with things that I can do that help me to relax that much. It is a little tougher to squeeze in "me time" during the summer since I don't have a preschool day. So, I am trying to get creative here!

1. GYM-I need to get back to it! Crazy as it sounds, I love to workout, and an hour of working out is an hour of me time! I have made up every excuse in the book NOT to workout here lately, but I know that I NEED it! Gotta get back to it!

2. Blogging/Internet-LOVE it! I definitely fit that in everyday!

3. Manicure/Pedicure

4. Shopping-I need to just go shopping by myself so that I can actually get some summer clothes for me!

5. Date night-LOVE these too! We have gone out a couple times already, and I am getting spoiled. I am already ready for another one sometime in the near future!

Super Mommy...

I am inspired after watching the Super Nanny last night! I have decided that I need to be a little tougher on Ashton when it comes to behavior. After all, the 4's have been a quite a challenge at our house!

I had the perfect opportunity to crack down today. We were at the mall with some friends, and Ashton kept running off! I warned her several times to stay with me, and she was still not listening. I finally said that we wouldn't go to the Sprinkler Day at Jack's house if she ran off from me again! Well, guess what happened? She didn't listen. So, I let her know that we would not be going to Jack's house! She screamed and cried through the mall and the entire way home saying "I WANT TO GO TO JACK'S HOUSE....PLEASE....JUST ONE MORE CHANCE, MOMMY!" Nope. So sorry...You have had plenty of warnings! We aren't going to Jack's house. We are going home and taking a nap! What she doesn't know is that it is just as much punishment for me as it is for her. I REALLY wanted to see MY friends too, but I am trying to get a point across here! We are sorry that we missed out on the fun!

Let's hope next time she remembers what happened when she didn't listen! If not, we will just have to go at it again! It has got to work eventually!
