Family Pictures

We had some family pics taken last week. I was mainly trying to capture Ashton and Reese at ages 5 & 2 since they both just had a birthday. I was very unsure about how the pictures would turn out since Reese was not in the mood, but she got some great shots! Here is a little preview of our pictures!

Last Day

I stole this idea from a blogging friend, and I will keep it up from here on out! I thought it was such a great idea to compare the first day of school with the last day! No more preschool. We now officially have a kindergartener! Wow.

Going, going...

BLONDE!!

I felt like I was on the Makeover Story yesterday! What a neat experience. I was a hair model at a very high end hair salon in Dallas. They asked what I wanted to do with the color, and I left it up to them! Wow. Looking back...that was pret-ty brave! Anyways, the trainers from NY were pretty harsh when it came to the consultation. I was pretty shocked at what they said about my hair. Those are terrible highlights, look at the stripes...That is obviously not a (the salon name) cut! Oh well. It was a lot of fun, all I did was tip, and I really like my hair! Now, I just wish that I could afford to go back again! I might just have to become a regular hair model. I think that I could handle that.

Fun, fun...

I made some end of the year t-shirts for Ashton's preschool class. I was going to make the writing green on all of them, but Ashton decided that the girls HAD to have PINK! So, the girls are pink, and the boys are green! They all signed them, and they are going to wear them for the last day of school. I just thought I would share because I think that they turned out pretty cute!

My Little Graduate...

Ashton's Preschool Graduation was today! They were all so cute in their little caps, and they sang some very cute songs! The emotions are becoming a little more real. I really didn't think that I would be emotional about the end of preschool and the beginning of elementary school because Ashton is very ready for Kindergarten and so excited. I am sure that she will do very well, but I definitely had to hold back the tears today! I guess it is just a big step towards truly being a "big kid". Spending more time with her teacher and friends than with me. Less control on my part. Maybe I need to just think really hard about it and cry now so that I won't cry on the 1st day of school! Yeah right. I am going to be just fine. Just fine. Really.

By the way, Ashton colored this picture, and it was hanging at the Graduation reception. She wants to be a Queen with Wings when she grows up! Very good.

One more week...

The countdown to Summer is officially ON, and I couldn't be more ready for some lazy days of Summer! Not so sure just how lazy we will be, but we won't have a regular "schedule" of things to do! Thank goodness. I am ready to sleep as long as the girls will let us sleep, stay in our pj's half of the day if we want to, go swimming, go to the beach, eat popsicles, cookout, play in the sprinkler, play outside with the neighbors...All of the fun things that go along with Summer!

We have Ashton's Preschool graduation tomorrow, Kindergarten tour on Wednesday morning and her last day of Preschool next Wednesday (which is also a carnival)! I think that it finally hit me that I am going to have a child in Kindergarten when I picked Ashton up on Monday, and they were talking about wearing a cap at graduation! Wow...Where have the last 5 years gone?

Lucky me...

It is today that I realize even more just how lucky I am to be the Mom to my 2 beautiful girls! I am also very lucky to have such a kind, caring & loving Mom! Thank you Mom for all that you do! I love you very much!

We enjoyed a fun day at my parent's pool & ate burgers outside for Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

Sweet & Sassy

We headed to Sweet & Sassy with a group of our neighbors on Thursday night! They had a Mother/Daughter special in honor of Mother's Day. So, Ashton got her hair, make-up, nails and a ring, and I also got an UPDO, a ring and pink glitter stars on my face! We all had a lot of fun! The funniest part is that 3 of us went out to dinner and for drinks afterwards with our rockstar hair. Mine wasn't quite as crazy as the others, but we definitely caught the attention of several people! I'm sure they were wondering what we were thinking going out like that! HA. HA.

Happy Birthday to Johnny!

We are still trying to catch up on sleep after our weekend of camping. So, we enjoyed a low key birthday of Brooklyn's Pizza (per Johnny's request) and some Sprinkle's cupcakes and ice cream! YUM! If you haven't ever been to Sprinkle's and you love cupcakes, I suggest you go!
We hope that you had a great day, Johnny (Daddy)!
Love,
Your girls

Family Camping Trip

I have been asking Johnny what he wanted for his birthday, and he really wanted to go camping for the weekend! He said that was ALL he wanted, but I am sure that he knows me better than that! Anyways, we headed to the lake for the weekend, and the weather could not have been more perfect! It was pretty chilly the first night, but it didn't keep us from having a GREAT time! We went to a kid's butterfly exhibit, went fishing, took a walk down to the water and played in it, cooked hot dogs over the campfire, slept in a TENT (the girls LOVED this part!), ate smores and banana boats & met some friends that just happened to have 3 and 5 year old girls! It was a GREAT weekend, and we are looking forward to going camping again soon!

On the downside, something very strange was going on with my camera. I got some GREAT shots of the girls in the woods, fishing with Johnny, making smores, etc, and I LOST ALL OF THEM. Still don't know what went wrong. Makes me sick. Anyways, here is the one shot that I managed to save! I guess we will just have to go again soon! Darn camera.

A Great Cause & Auction ending SOON...

My friend, Charisse, has donated a custom child's apron for an auction to raise
money for a Mom that has been diagnosed with Cancer and is in her final days of life.
You can read her story here: http://thecomfyplace.blogspot.com/. I can't even begin to imagine what this poor Mom is going through. Please take a look at the auction. Every little bit of money helps.

Here is the e-bay listing for the cute apron:

All proceeds benefit the future care of her son and any treatment for her that isn't covered by insurance....which happens to be A LOT!

Thank you for taking the time to check it out!
