Ugggh...

Oh my goodness! You will not EVEN believe the crazy thing that happened to me today! I am thinking that I went too light went I got my hair done last week.

I headed to mail a couple packages since Johnny was home, and we all know how much easier the post office is without kids. I stopped by Walgreens to get a box, and I came back to the back of my car to pack the items up. I needed to ship an outfit that I sold on ebay and several things to Charisse. I packed Charisse's stuff up and got back into the car to go. I was going to wait on the ebay pkg to get a free priority envelope. I start the car and look for the address for the ebay package. Oh my gosh. Please tell me that I didn't just pack it in the other package. It wasn't anywhere in the front seat. So, I decided to check, and it was in Charisse's package (which was already all taped up and ready to go). UGGH...Packed it back up and headed to the post office. I grab my package and other items to ship and my wallet. Where's my wallet? Oh no! Did I leave my wallet at Walgreens? I go back to Walgreens (as I am panicking), run in quickly & no wallets have been found. I go back to the car and search all over my car. After looking ALL over the car, I grab Charisse's package, and it feels a little heavy! NO WAY! Just by chance, I open it up, and there is my wallet! Are you kidding me? HAVE I LOST IT...I think that I NEED some more SLEEP tonight?

Fun times...

FRIDAY
Johnny's Mom came into town this weekend, and Johnny and I got to go out! We headed to the BBQ Cook-off at the Rodeo on Friday night, and we had a good time! This was my first experience at the Rodeo festivities, and it was CA-RAZY! I didn't really know what to expect, but there must have been a hundred booths, and they are all private parties that require an invitation. Johnny had an invite to two of his vendors booths, and our friends, Wendee and Chris, had a pass to the Jim Beam booth! Let me tell you, the Jim Beam booth won 1st prize in my book! I felt like we were in the Coyote Ugly bar. The bartenders were dancing on the bar and throwing cowboy hats and bandanas out into the crowd! There was also a great band, open bar, shot girls & some tasty bbq! We had a lot of fun!

SATURDAY
We had a late night on Friday, and I had a little headache on Saturday! It didn't help that we went to sleep at 1:30, and Reese woke up at 6:30! We lounged until we took Ashton to a birthday party at 2:30. Then, we went to Cypress Academy for a gymnatics party and headed to Lupe Tortilla's for dinner afterwards! YUMMY!! The weather was perfect and the food was so good too! I went ahead and tried a strawberry margarita, and it took care of the headache (thank goodness)!

SUNDAY
Reese is 9 months old today!! I cannot believe it! I sat on her floor taking some pics, and I watched her try to crawl. Wow...I think she is getting very close!! Here is a pic of my big girl!!


We also headed across the street for a Crawfish boil on Sunday afternoon! Once again, the weather was wonderful!! Sunny and probably about 70 degrees! I had a potato wedge and a brownie since I don't eat that stuff!! I did have a cocktail, and we had a good time with our neighbors!

Poor Reese...

She has had a cough and runny nose for a couple days now. I decided to take her to the doctor today since Johnny and I have both had upper respiratory infections in the last 2 weeks. I had a bad feeling that she had the same thing. So, I took her this afternoon, and she had double ear infections! Poor thing! It makes me so sad to see her hurting. We got some amoxicillan, and let's hope it does the trick!

Sunny Sunday!

We decided to take it easy on Sunday! I was trying to catch up on rest after being sick all week, and Reese woke up with a cough and runny nose! It was a beautiful day outside! So, we enjoyed it!!

What's for breakfast?

Ashton has really enjoyed making her own food lately! What can I say...Miss Independent! This morning, she really wanted to make her own breakfast! She wanted to make a sandwich, but we were all out of turkey. She said, "That's okay...I'll make a banana sandwich!". Okay... Sounds good to me! So, she got the bread out, sliced the bananas all by herself & added a side of sliced strawberries and a slice of cheese! Oh yeah, don't forget the grape jelly on that sandwich and a little on the side! YUM-MY!! At least she thought it was good!

I think that I need to get a kid's cookbook! She would love that!!

NO MORE NAPS...

Are you kidding me? I knew just how lucky I was that Ashton was still napping since she is almost 4! I really NEED and enjoy MY 1 1/2-2 hours a day when BOTH girls are taking a nap! I can check my e-mail, read a magazine, do laundry, unload the dishwasher, etc. I can do quite a few things without little distractions here and there. Ashton has taken 1 nap this week, and that was after asking if she could get up for over an hour. She FINALLY crashed out!

I just went into her room to see if she had gone to sleep, and this is what I found!

I asked her "Why aren't you sleeping, Ashton"? She said "because I am cleaning my room"!
Why can't you clean your room all the time...that's what I was thinking!

Anyways, I think that the day has come. I think we will now have quiet time, and I will just REALLY appreciate the days that she actually falls asleep. Ah man! My big girl is growing up!

Hmmmm....I am thinking an earlier bed time is in order then!!

My Valentine's Mistake...

Johnny always puts Ashton to bed, and it is a LONG drawn out process! First, she wants tickles, then a story, then more tickles, a plea for water, etc. I think Johnny secretly enjoys this one-on-one time with Ashton, and that is why he puts up with it! Anyways, he was falling asleep on the couch last night, and it was getting later and later! Finally, I offered to put her to bed! He said, "Thanks...It will be interesting to see if it is any quicker and easier for you!" So, I decided on a plan that I just knew would get her to sleep quickly! I really wanted to win this challenge. I had been planning for the last week that Ashton and I would surprise Johnny and make him dinner, but I didn't want to tell Ashton because she wouldn't be able to keep a secret. So, I decided to fill her in on the secret last night, and it backfired on me! She was so beyond excited! You could tell that the little wheels were turning as she thought of ideas! I asked her what she wanted to make for Daddy, and she said chicken, french fries and carrots! Okay...done! I can handle that. I thought that would be the end of it! NOT SO MUCH. I let her talk about more and more ideas that she had. Then, I kissed her and told her good night! Whew...I did it! UMMM...NOPE!! She must have come out of her room a hundred times! I think she finally fell asleep at 10:30! Then, she came in our room WIDE AWAKE at 2:30! She got in our bed, and she said "DADDY...We have a surprise for you, but I can't tell you what it is!" Oh my goodness....Go to sleep, Ashton!

**Anyways, sorry for the long story! I actually think it will be a Valentine's Day to remember! We went grocery shopping for chicken and french fries, and Ashton got a little cart to put her groceries in (SUCH A TREAT)! We are having chocolate fondue with strawberries, pretzels, marshmallows, angel food cake & bananas for dessert! MY pick!! Can't wait!!

Mom's Night!

Ashton was very excited about Mom's Night at her school! It was even more special that Grammy is in town, and she got to go with us!!

When we got to school, I found the paper that Ashton had made for me. Mrs. Taylor asked her questions and she filled it out. Also, Ashton colored a picture of our family! Let me just say that I am cracking up about the comment about my eyes! Instead of saying what color they are...she said that they are kind of criss cross. How funny is that!

We all sat on the mat and waited for Mrs. Taylor to give us directions. Then, we all got to go to the centers. First, we went to have a snack (that's my girl!), and Ashton showed us how she washes her hands and then makes her own snack! She made us strawberry shortcake, and it was yummy!

After that, we did an art project, and I can't wait to frame it! We put my handprints to make a heart, and then Ashton put her hand print in the middle. I love it!

After centers, we went to music and sang some fun songs! Ashton really got into the silly songs and had a good time! We also went to enrichment and played a game and went through an obstacle course & sang some more songs in Chapel! Grammy and I had a good time with Ashton, and it is so nice to know what all she really does at school! I always ask her, "What did you do at school today...Did you have a good day?". The most I usually get out of her is yes...I don't remember...We played! Now I know that she just does SO much and has so much fun that she can't remember what all she did!!

I'm back...

Well, I don't know what happened in the last week! I guess that I was busy since I haven't blogged in over a week.

We did have a fun weekend...2 birthday parties, Super Bowl, hanging out, relaxing, etc! It was nice!

Now, my Mom is in town all week! My Mom was really wanting to come visit us (since we hadn't seen her since Christmas)! We called to tell her that Ashton had packed her bags to go to Grammy's house, and she had them by the back door! Then, Ashton kept saying that we should hurry up because we were going to miss our plane to go see Grammy. Ummm...We don't have any plane tickets to go see Grammy, Ashton! So, Grammy decided to hop on a plane and come see us! Yea!! We are very excited to have her here this week!!
