We headed to Ashton's school for Meet the Teacher last night! I haven't been too terribly nervous about Kindergarten since Ashton is sooooo ready, but I began feeling a little anxious last night, and Miss Ashton was definitely nervous too!
I guess it didn't help to find out that this is her teacher's 1st year to ever teach! She just got out of school and everything is fresh on her mind, and she is VERY excited about teaching! She will be just fine, right?
My outgoing little girl definitely has a shy side to her (believe it or not). I wanted to get one picture of Ashton and her teacher, but she was not too happy about the idea!
So, here is a picture with Miss S, Ashton & Johnny!
And one more of my Kindergartener just for fun!
3 more days until school starts!

Hey Sarah, no worries about the first year teacher. I PROMISE that my best year of teaching was my first year. I was so gung ho and creative. I came in early and stayed late. It's also nice that her work is her passion and she doesn't have any cuties at home to distract her (like my subsequent years that spiraled down the tube until I decided to stay home with my babies.) Good luck and have an excellent year Ashton!
I COMPLETELY agree with Jenni - year one is often the BEST and usually the one the teacher remembers for her entire career and the standard she sets for all other classes - she will have tons of energy and ideas - AND youth on her side - not to mention that she will know the latest theories out there...However, I do always smirk at the lack of discipline...or should I say - the amount of time it usually takes for them to gain control - anything longer than the first day is too long. HAHAHA :)
Thank you both very much! That makes me feel a lot better (especially coming from teachers)!
Hope you had a good day today, Ashton! Your teacher looks very sweet! :)
Yes, I hope you had a fantastic day, Ashton!
