Travel tips please...

I have been trying to come up with ideas for entertainment for the plane ride next week, and I would really appreciate some new ideas!!

I think that I have Ashton pretty well covered with the DVD player and her Leapster along with a new movie and possibly a new game! I will also bring some new colors, stickers, paper, make-up, snacks, candy, gum, etc.

The only thing that I can come up with for Reese is some new toys (most toys that would really entertain would be too loud), a new Baby Einstein video and snacks.

Reese is 14 months old now, and she likes to get down and explore. So, keeping her contained for 3 1/2 hours will be a challenge!!

Any other GREAT ideas for Reese??

Poor Reese...

We have been stuck at home all day today after Reese's dr's appt yesterday! I took her in because she had a runny nose and a cough. I wasn't sure what was wrong, but I had no idea that she had croup AND strep! Poor baby!! She wasn't even acting like she felt that bad, but her cough was sounding pretty bad and she woke up crying on Sunday night. She has been on her antibiotics and steroids for 24 hours now, and she seems to be feeling pretty good!! Also, she is no longer contagious!! Yea!! We NEED to get out a little tomorrow!!

We better all stay well now for our trip to Tampa next week!!

A week of firsts...

Bowl of cereal...

I think that Reese preferred her hands, but she loved drinking the milk out of the straw bowl!!



Haircut...

I took Reese to get her first haircut this week! She loved getting to sit in the chair and watch cartoons. Then, I gave her a sucker for a brief moment (which she loved), but she was not too happy when I took it away!

Johnny still thinks that I am crazy for taking her for a haircut, but I think it looks so much better with the ends trimmed!



Baseball game...

The Parker's were in town for a couple days, and we all met up at the Roughrider's game last night! This was Reese's 1st Baseball game!! We all had a lot of fun, and it was so good to hang out with the Parker Family again!!

My new toy!!

I LOVE monogrammed things! I have always loved monogrammed t-shirts, dresses, towels, bags, etc. I have been wanting a machine of my own for awhile now! Well, I finally got it this week!! YEA!! Don't you just love getting your OWN new toys every once in awhile?

Photo shoot...

Well, I have only had my camera for 11 months now, and I am just now attempting to shoot in manual. Reese was a great subject! Ashton, on the other hand, didn't have any interest yesterday. I consider myself lucky to have gotten one shot of her! I definitely need to read up on my camera a little more, but I had fun playing around a little! Here is my first photo shoot in manual...

What's cooking?

We went to Young Chef's Academy(www.youngchefsacademy.com) for a cooking class with our friends (Anna, Raegan & Jackson) on Friday, and Ashton had a lot of fun! They learned safety in the kitchen, how to measure flour and other ingredients, and they made their own Cheesy Breadsticks and Pirate Punch! The kids had a lot of fun, and we are hoping to go back again soon!!

Princess with a Purpose video...finally!

Ashton had so much fun at the Princess Prep School last week! In fact, she said that she didn't want it to be the last day...She wanted to go a thousand more days! Anyways, if you ever have an opportunity to send your kids, I would definitely recommend this program! Ashton really wants to go back again next summer!


Princess with a Purpose

Little Princess...

Ashton has had a very busy week! She has been going to the Princess with a Purpose (http://www.princesswithapurpose.com/ )program at Prestonwood Baptist Church every day from 9-2. She has had so much fun with the puppet shows, crafts and music! She also had swimming lessons this afternoon, and she was officially WORN OUT!! I looked back as we were driving home, and she was crashed out! Then, I looked at the clock, and it was 6:32. We got home, and I laid her on the couch. She didn't move! We tried to get her to eat dinner, and she was just too tired. So, she is out for the night! Poor baby! I hope that the rest does her some good because she has 2 more days of Princess Camp! I guess the Princess needs her sleep!! Sweet girl.

Sunny Sunday!

It was a beautiful day on Sunday until it started raining AGAIN!! We took the girls swimming in between the scattered showers, and I think we swam for a whole 45 minutes before we had to leave to beat the storm. This was Reese's 1st time to swim, and she LOVED it!! I can't wait to see her on the beach!

My turn...

We have had quite a few haircuts around here lately, but it was finally my turn! I love to get my hair cut, but I am always trying to change it up a bit. So, today I decided to go short for something new and different! I think that I am really going to love how quick and easy it is to fix!

More of the 4th...

We had a fun 4th of July!! We watched the fireworks at Kaboom Town on Tuesday night from the 5th floor at The Hotel Intercontinental, and then we stayed there overnight!! Wayne and Darcy, their kiddos, and some of their friends were also there, and we had a lot of fun!! Ashton loved the hotel room! The only bummer was that the pool was so cold that we didn't end up getting to swim.

Last night, we cooked hamburgers and hotdogs and played outside. Then, we sat in our gameroom and watched the fireworks out the window. The city put on a great show, and we had perfect seats!!

Another haircut...

We headed to the mall for yet ANOTHER haircut since Aunt Jaclyn just cut Ashton's hair a week ago! With a part on the other side and another inch, it looks quite a bit better than it did. Thank goodness!! I won't ever forget this incident!!

Big trouble...

Ashton is officially banned from the scissors for a long time! Johnny went upstairs to find HAIR everywhere, cuts in the sheets, her cute inital pillowcase cut & a new hair-do for her and a few layers for her cousin too!! I was beyond mad!!

Remember her cute new haircut? Not so much anymore! Here is her new Ashton Ray Cyrus hair-do. Cute, huh? Maybe if you live in a trailer! I guess we will be heading to the mall to TRY to get it fixed today!!
