Our day...

Well, Johnny is out of town this weekend. He went dove hunting with his fraternity brothers and some guys from work. So, the highlight of my day today was that Maria came to clean our house! Yea...I LOVE how it feels to have such a clean house! One day, I hope to have her come every week! That will be awhile though...Maybe when we win the lottery! The girls, on the other hand, were going a little stir crazy by the time she left, and they were ready to get out and play! So we headed to the park! It was a little warm (even though it is almost October), but it didn't seem to bother them one bit. They had a good time! Oh yeah, I brought 2 Caramel Apple suckers (1 for Ashton and 1 for me) and some Gerber Graduates fruit snacks for Reese. Reese took one look at that sucker and it was all over! I lost my sucker, and she enjoyed it for a bit before I threw it away. Yep...I am a sucker! Hope you had some fun today too!

...When you can RUN!!

We headed to Academy after we picked Ashton up from school today, and I got Reese her first pair of Nike Running shoes! I think that she really liked them since she kept saying shoes, shoes! They are just too cute!

So much for walking...Reese is running now!!

Ashton is 4 1/2!!

We started a new tradition of celebrating the kids 1/2 birthdays last year! It isn't anything elaborate, but I hope that it is something special that they remember as they get older. We just let them pick the meal and dessert for dinner, and we get them a small present! Ashton chose La Hacienda for dinner, and she got a Brownie Sundae for dessert!! Yum. Her present was a Littlest Pet Shop diary that she has wanted for awhile now! I think that she had a lot of fun on her special day, and I can't believe that my baby is halfway to 5 years old!

Oh boy...

I was working on some baby boy onesies for a friend last night. Her sister is having a boy, and she is hosting a baby shower for her this weekend. Anyways, the colors are going to be chocolate brown and blue. I just love the color combo. I did the this onesie and decided to add the fun hat (even though she didn't ask for it)! How cute is this?

Fire Station Tour

We finally went to a Mom's Club event today! We went to the fire station tour after I picked Ashton up from school. It was a lot of fun to see them dress up in their uniform, see where they eat and sleep and sit in their fire truck! Ashton and Reese had a lot of fun!!

Quick and Easy Dinner...

...AND the kids love it too!!

I am actually taking a meal to a girl in my Mom's Club tonight that had a baby, but it makes enough to feed our family too! I got this recipe from my friend, Erin, in Houston! It is just too good and easy! Try it out!!

Baked Ziti

1 jar (26 oz.) spaghetti sauce
1 container (15 oz.) Ricotta Cheese
1 pkg. (16 oz.) ziti pasta, cooked, drained
1 pkg. (8 oz.) Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, divided
1/4 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. Mix sauce and ricotta cheese in large bowl. Add ziti and 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese; mix lightly.PLACE in 13x9-inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray; sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese and the Parmesan cheese. Cover.

BAKE 30 minutes; uncover. Bake an additional 15 minutes or until heated through.

Funny girl...

We were sitting in traffic today driving to dance when Ashton asked me, "Mom is that a Number-Sadie in front of us?" I asked, "A WHAT?" She said, "You know...A Number-Sadies like the car you want!". I said, "You mean a Mercedes?".

Ashton: "Yeah, a Numbersadies!"

Another 1st day of school...

I just knew that this is how it would happen. I took Ashton to school last Wednesday and Friday. After I dropped her off on Friday, I headed back to my MOPS Meeting when I got a phone call from the school where I had Ashton on the waiting list. They had a spot for her! It is very nice and SO much closer to home!! So, I signed her up, and today was her 1st day at her new school! I sure hope that she likes it as much as the other one! I'm sure she will, and I will be a lot less stressed not having to drive all the way to Plano!

Go Cowboys!

We went to the Dallas Cowboys game last night! I don't think that I have ever shown up at 3:30 for a 7:00 game! We tailgated for quite awhile. It was a lot of fun...a little too much fun actually! Anyways, the Cowboys WON the game, and we had a GOOD time!!

Lucky me...

Today is my lucky day! BOTH girls are napping at the SAME time!! How great is that? Ashton very rarely takes a nap anymore, but school must have worn her out because this makes 2 days in a row this week!! The only noise that I hear right now is the fan. Ahhhhh.....Every Mom needs a break like this every once in awhile!!

First Day of School

Today was Ashton's first day of school! I cannot believe that this is her LAST year of preschool before kindergarten! She was so excited to go this morning!!

We dropped her off, and we headed to Reese's 1st Kindermusik class! It brought back memories of taking Kindermusik with Ashton, Raegan and Bella! Reese had a lot of fun, and we even met a little girl that is 17 months old! Her Mom was very sweet and suggested a playdate soon! Yea!!

Custom Leotard

Ashton is supposed to wear solid leotards for tap/ballet. HOW BORING! So, I decided to spice it up a bit! I think that it turned out pretty cute!

Water fun...

Reese started putting her hands in Sadie's water bowl (which Johnny had just cleaned and filled with fresh water) while we were cooking out tonight. I was about to take her away from the water, but then I decided to let her just have fun! Oh my goodness....She had a BLAST and was soaked, but it was just TOO CUTE to watch!! I have been looking at all of the baby pools on clearance everywhere. I think that I might just have to break down and buy one!! Reese would be one happy girl!!
